Achieving equity with limited resources is a critical challenge in the coming years. Even before the pandemic, the poorest and most vulnerable children needed further support to realize their education rights. In this respect, education decision makers and stakeholders must identify how to safeguard funding toward public basic education, improve effectiveness and efficiency of funding use, and prioritize where the investment should focus in order to pursue the SDG 4 goals.

UNESCO Beirut will be holding a workshop on Education Financing Training on Efficiency & Effectiveness for Arab member states. It will cover the different types of efficiencies in education finance (allocative efficiency, technical efficiency, internal efficiency, and external efficiency) and help identify evidence-based and cost-effective practices to support policymakers’ decision making to improve learning outcomes. The workshop will be interactive to allow for technical questions and discussions.

The workshop will be conducted online on December 8th and 9th, including time for group work and technical questions discussions.
